Rihanna says domestic violence could happen to anyone, referring to the night she was beaten by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. She was to speak in a TV interview. Chris Brown was sentenced to 20 years in prison and community service after beating up Rihanna on the eve of an awards ceremony.

Rihanna 21, and Chris 20, were were among the fastest rising R&B artists in the US but after the alleged attack on Rihanna from chris he had lost many sponsorships and made his way into national debates on violent relationships. He was sentenced to probation in August while the attack took place in February. Though Chris Brown apologized for the assault he has kept out of the spotlight since then.

Rihanna said Cris was her first big love. "This happened to me ... it can happen to anyone,". she told this to Sawyer according to a statement from ABC.
